Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Yo Friends Company ("we", "us", or "our") and govern your access to and use of the Yo Friends mobile application (the "App") and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or otherwise using Yo Friends, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who We Are & Eligibility

The Service is provided by Yo Friends Company. You can contact us at any time at support@yofriendsworld.com.

Yo Friends is not intended for children under the age of 13, and you may not use the Service if you are under 13. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use Yo Friends only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using Yo Friends, you represent that you meet these requirements and that you are able to form a binding contract with us.

2. Your Account

• Phone-number sign-in: You create and access your account using your phone number and a verification code. You are responsible for keeping access to your phone number and account secure.
• Accurate information: You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your profile up to date. You may not impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
• One person, your account: Your account is for you. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Notify us: Contact us promptly at support@yofriendsworld.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. License to Use the Service

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial use. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.

4. Your Content

4.1 Ownership

You retain ownership of the content you create or share on Yo Friends — including posts, comments, photos and other media, activities, groups, reviews and ratings, and messages ("Your Content"). We do not claim ownership of Your Content.

4.2 License you grant us

To operate the Service, you grant Yo Friends Company a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt, and distribute Your Content solely for the purpose of operating, providing, securing, and improving the Service. This license ends when Your Content is deleted, except for content that has been shared with others who have not deleted it, and for backup or legal-compliance copies retained for a limited period.

4.3 Your responsibility

You are solely responsible for Your Content and represent that you have the rights necessary to share it and that it does not violate these Terms or any law or third-party right.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Post or share content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, defamatory, sexually explicit involving minors, threatening, or that incites violence.
• Harass, bully, stalk, threaten, or harm other users, or solicit personal information from minors.
• Impersonate others, misrepresent your identity, or engage in fraud, scams, or spam.
• Post content that infringes intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights.
• Distribute malware, attempt to gain unauthorized access, scrape or harvest data, or interfere with or disrupt the Service.
• Use the Service for unauthorized commercial purposes, advertising, or pyramid schemes.
• Circumvent safety features, blocks, reporting, or moderation, or use the Service in violation of any applicable law.

6. Activities, Groups & Meeting People

Yo Friends helps you discover activities and meet people, which may include meeting others in person. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users, both online and offline. We do not conduct background checks or verify the identity, statements, or conduct of users, and we do not organize, supervise, or take responsibility for any activity, group, or meetup.

7. Reviews & Ratings

Reviews and ratings must reflect your genuine, first-hand experience. You may not post fake, incentivized, or misleading reviews, or reviews that contain prohibited content. We may remove reviews that violate these Terms.

8. Reporting & Moderation

You can report content or users and block other users within the app. We may review reported content and may remove content or limit, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms — but we are not obligated to monitor all content and are not responsible for content posted by users.

9. Our Intellectual Property

The Service itself — including the Yo Friends name, logo, software, design, and other materials we provide (excluding Your Content and third-party content) — is owned by Yo Friends Company or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Except as allowed by these Terms, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from the Service.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third parties, including a phone-number authentication provider, a maps and places provider for location search, and push-notification providers (Expo and Firebase Cloud Messaging). Your use of these features may be subject to those providers' terms. We are not responsible for third-party services or content.

11. Termination

You may stop using Yo Friends and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or its users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including content licenses already granted to others, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification — will survive.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any content or user is accurate, trustworthy, or safe to meet.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Yo Friends Company and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, goodwill, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service or your interactions with other users. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Yo Friends Company from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, Your Content, your interactions with other users, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.

15. Changes to the Service & These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Washington, USA, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
